A scorchingly good day at Brands Hatch

As a member of the Kawasaki Riders Club, you are entitled to exclusive benefits at British Superbike events, so we caught up with KRC member Rob Jarvis at a scorching Brands Hatch race day to find out what he thought of his day...

“I’ve been coming to Brands Hatch since I was a kid and in those days you could hop through a gap in the fence. You can’t do that now and with the British Superbike championship being such a global championship nowadays. It was great to be able to get an exclusive look around the MSS Bathams Kawasaki garage and see the Superbikes up close and personal.

I’ve come to quite a few BSB meetings and will be riding to Silverstone for the World Superbike event on my ZX-10R, but today was the first time I’ve taken up the use of the KRC benefits at BSB and can’t recommend it enough. I applied through the website and was given plenty of information beforehand, then arriving at the circuit early Sunday morning I made my way to the MSS hospitality unit for breakfast (bacon and egg sarnie!) and was made to feel immediately welcome with everyone in there very friendly and accommodating.

With breakfast done I caught some of the morning warm-up sessions before heading back to MSS for the tour of the garage. This was definitely the highlight of the day as you can never usually get so close to the bikes and racers. We were told all about the bike and the way the team works before having any questions we had answered and given time to take photos. I’m definitely going to be using this benefit at every BSB meeting I can get to, at only £5 it’s the price of a bacon sandwich anyway, but with the added benefit of having exclusive access to the pit garage.

I rode home with a huge smile on my face, a Ninja underneath me, very happy and safely.”
